Higher Education Climate Dialogues 2024 (May 2024)
American University of Sharjah (AUS) will host the fifth annual Higher Education Climate Dialogues (HECD), a student-led conference on sustainability, in collaboration with New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). The event, titled: Collaborating for Climate Resilience; Sustaining the Legacy of COP28, serves as a platform for university students from across the UAE to share thoughts, ideas and exemplary approaches concerning climate action. The primary objective of the HECD is to enrich campus strategy, operations, research and learning, all while empowering the youth to drive these endeavors.
The 2024 edition of HECD will feature:
- an opening ceremony with keynote speeches by AUS and NYUAD
- a panel discussion on “Making Sustainability Accessible to the Youth”
- a debrief by the Youth Climate Champion Team on the "UAE Consensus"
- hands-on workshops with Ernst & Young, Canon, Goumbook, Ecyclex and the Youth Climate Champion Team
